Please consider supporting the Genoa U.S. Indian School Foundation by making a donation. Your contributions help keep the Interpretive Center open, support the maintenance and upkeep of the building, help us create valuable educational programming, and enable us to hold a variety of public events to promote awareness of the historical legacy of the Genoa Indian Industrial School.
We are currently raising funds for historic preservation work on the Genoa Indian School museum building and for an endowment to support the Foundation’s existence and work in the long term. Visit https://gofund.me/6c07c00c for full information on the historic preservation fundraiser. Details on the endowment are below.
Since its creation in 1990 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Foundation has collected and preserved the history of the school and provided the public with tours and access to historical materials largely through volunteer labor. With the exception of intermittent seasonal, temporary grant-funded positions, the Interpretive Center and Museum has never employed full-time staff.

To sustain the Foundation and its work, we need stable financial footing. Through our endowment fund, we hope to one day be able to hire full-time museum staff and permanent Native consultants to support the Foundation’s critical work of shining light on the history of the Genoa Indian Industrial School and its historical legacy. Please consider contributing to our endowment fund today to help us with this important work.
Please note that you may be able to claim a deduction on your federal taxes if you donate to organizations with 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, like the Genoa U.S. Indian School Foundation. Visit https://www.usa.gov/donate-to-charity to learn more about claiming a deduction for your donation.
We offer two methods for making donations: PayPal and mail-in contributions.
